(Az-Zukhuruf) 43 : 5
أَفَنَضْرِبُ عَنْكُمُ الذِّكْرَ صَفْحًا أَنْ كُنْتُمْ قَوْمًا مُسْرِفِينَ
Then shall We keep away Adhikr from you because you are a transgressing people?
Through this verse, it is asked of the Meccan pagans—the addressees of the Book when It was revealed—if they are rejecting It, do they think that It will be given to any other people without being given to them? But today, the people of Messenger Muhammad, who have inherited the Lord’s Book as told in verse 35: 32, if they are hiding Adhikr, It will be entrusted to other people of the Messenger’s community who will not hide It, as explained in verses 6: 89–90. See explanation 5: 54; 6: 25–26; 41: 5; and 42: 17–18.
